| Term | Meaning |

| Egg | The signed order: a call, a window, a maximum reward, a nonce. |
| Hatch | Carrying an egg to the contract. |
| Keeper | A program that carries eggs and earns the reward. |
| Window | The blocks notBefore to notAfter. |
| Escrow | ETH you deposited, spent only by your eggs. |
| Clock | The block counter the contract reads (ArbSys on Arbitrum-family chains). |
| Lead | How many blocks early a keeper sends to absorb its latency. |
| Jitter | The spread of a sender's arrival time, in milliseconds. |
